From this page here, as linked on myspace the other day. The theme is middle school (grades 7-9 in the Japanese education system, so if you happen to be about 13-15, he's talking to you ^^). I very much like his thoughts on motivation and success, although this turns out to be more of an essay than an interview.

So, everyone, Project Gacktbook Scrapbook aka Project G (thanks pristineangel!) is underway! (Name still pending, haha.) Currently, we have three volunteers to handle the bulk of the work: Myself (thevamplucinda), pristineangel92 and elwenaduialloth, so consider us the "Scrapbook Committee" (even though it's really not all that much of a formal committee...^_^;)

Anyway, here's the idea: We'll be sending a huge scrapbook to Gackt either for his birthday or very near his birthday filled with creations from his Dears in this Community (and anyone else who hears about it and wants to contribute!).

Here's a list of things that can be sent (graciously compiled byansnnn) :

-fan letters (handwritten or via email)
-drawings/fan art
-photos
-comics
-poems
-pictures-collage of us
-sentence in english, mandarin, french, japanese (plus translations maybe)
-essays (short!)
-handmade stuff (that can fit in a scrapbook...)
-videos (if you make a video, please send it to me via email so that I can burn it to a single CD/DVD, unless you prefer to send it separately, which is also okay...just let me know!)
-anything else that can fit in a scrapbook <3

You can do more than one thing if you want, also! So, if you want to send in a short video and maybe some fan art, for example...That's totally fine.

elwenaduialloth has offered (and I am eternally in her debt) to be the one to whom we send all of our materials, and who will also compile the actual Book, as she and a few of her friends have experience in scrapbooking! So, let's give her a big hand and a big thanks for that! <3

In any case, there will be more information pending, but here's what we have so far:

The deadline for sending in materials is April 30th, 2009 2010. This will give elwenaduialloth enough time to compile the book and make it absolutely beautiful. ;) Also, this will also give us enough time to send the package so that it won't have to be rushed (which costs more money, ne?). If something comes up and this deadline must be changed, we'll let you know well ahead of time. Also, for video submissions, the deadline is March 30th 2010. This isn't 100% official yet, but I (or, whoever wants to) may (if you guys want/don't mind) combine all of the personal video messages into a single video...like a montage, I guess. ^_^

In order to obtain elwenaduialloth's mailing and/or email address, please message her or myself privately.

All questions should be directed towards us ( thevamplucinda and pristineangel92) and we'll do our best to answer them. And, lastly, any way in which you'd like to help will be greatly appreciated. If you have experience doing anything like this, please let me know, because we really need the help! And if you can contribute by being on the Committee, let me know, and you'll be on! Oh, and spread the word--this is for as many Dears as want to participate! As we gain more info, we'll update you all on how things are going, and any specific details.

GACKT kept himself busy throughout 2009. He was asked to express what this year was like for him using just one kanji letter.

With a brush he masterfully wrote '謝 (Sha; gratitude)'. "For the past 10 years, my fans have continued to stay beside me, and even when I was acting on a whim they were there to support me. They have also always showed and expressed how happy they were to see me. I feel very grateful to have such fans."

He then quietly but passionately continued. "For these 10 years I've been working to 'become' a creator. Now having achieved that, for the next 10 years I have to make various works of art to express the many sides of myself as that creator. I hope everyone will be there to see and understand each step I take. I will put into concrete form the things I should and can do as a creator. I pledge to send you works that will fascinate everybody. Please look forward to them."

I'm always impressed and touched with how much he cares for his fans. In the almost six years that I've been his fan, I've never not seen/heard him express how thankful he is for the constant support all the fans have shown. I guess this is one of the reasons why I like him so much.
Even though in these past 10 years he has shown how talented he is as a musician, composer, lyricist, actor.... etc; he knows he can still get even higher, become even better, and will strive for it in order to show what he's capable of and to make his fan even happier.
*sigh* Now I'm really looking forward to whatever he's readying for us next, though I'm pretty sure that, whatever it is, is going to spell doom for my wallet. = =;
